Kyle Anfernee, Malika Manning Launch EmPowerHER NYC to Elevate Black Women

NEW YORK (AP) — Kyle Anfernee, creator of The Neighborhood Talk, and Malika Manning Marketing launched EmPowerHER NYC, a groundbreaking event to elevate Black women leaders.

Held in New York City, the event featured influential figures from business, sports, and culture, delivering inspirational talks and networking opportunities aimed at fostering leadership and growth among Black women.

Key speakers included Pinky Cole of Slutty Vegan, who shared her entrepreneurial journey, and Amber Sabathia, who discussed overcoming barriers in male-dominated fields. Janell Stephens and Janeisha John offered insights into their success with Camille Rose and Zeus.

Additional speakers like Jeanine McLean, Anaya Ivy, and Donshea Hopkins also provided valuable guidance.

The two-day event included panels on critical challenges faced by Black women in business. Topics ranged from breaking the glass ceiling to leveraging social media in entertainment. Moderators such as De’asia Robinson and Ameenha Lee facilitated discussions with industry leaders.

A celebratory dinner at Brooklyn Chop House on the second day honored inspiring individuals like Amber Sabathia and Jeanine McLean, featuring a surprise visit from Wyclef Jean. Anfernee emphasized the event’s mission of community building, stating, “EmPowerHER NYC provides the tools and connections to help Black women turn their dreams into thriving businesses.”

Sponsored by Zeus, Camille Rose, and Creme of Nature, EmPowerHER NYC is poised to offer even greater opportunities for Black women in entrepreneurship.
