Michael Che gave his first public comments on the new Kanye West documentary “In Whose Name?” during an appearance on SiriusXM’s “The Bonfire.”
The film includes footage from 2018 that shows Che confronting West backstage at “Saturday Night Live” after the rapper criticized the show during a live performance.
Speaking with hosts Big Jay Oakerson and Robert Kelly, Che said he intended to address West directly and provide context about what happened in the days leading up to the confrontation.
Che added that he saw West again backstage at “SNL” in late 2019, when Eddie Murphy hosted, and said West apologized to him at that time.
