Nicki Minaj Returns to the MTV VMAs Stage in a Dual Role

NEW JERSEY (AP) — Nicki Minaj, the rap sensation, is making a big comeback at the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs). She’ll be both the host and a performer at this year’s live event from New Jersey’s Prudential Center on Tuesday, September 12th at 8PM ET/PT.

It’s her second year as the host, and she’ll not only run the show but also reveal the lineup of performers and winners. Minaj will also treat fans to the debut performance of her latest song, “Last Time I Saw You.”

Last year, Minaj dominated the VMAs, winning six awards, including “Best Hip Hop” and the prestigious Video Vanguard Award. Her dual role as host and performer left a lasting impression.

Minaj has a remarkable history at the VMAs, with 25 nominations overall, including six this year. She’s a four-time winner of “Best Hip Hop” and is nominated in major categories like “Video of the Year” and “Artist of the Year.”

Nicki Minaj’s legacy at the VMAs includes wins for “Best Female Video” in 2012 and “Best Power Anthem” in 2019. She’s also known for her captivating performances, such as her debut in 2012 when she surprised with a rap during Alicia Keys’ “Girl on Fire.”

Minaj’s 2018 performance featured a medley of hits from her album “Queen,” and she’s known for her red carpet fashion, which often goes viral on social media.
