According to TMZ, Prodigy of legendary hip hop act Mobb Deep passed away today at the age of 42 in Las Vegas.
While the exact circumstances of death have yet to be announced, it is believed to be related to his lifelong strife with sickle cell anemia.
As part of the Art of Rap Tour, Prodigy was to perform in sin city with several of rap legends including Ghostface Killah, Onyx, KRS-One, and Ice-T.
The rapper also co-wrote a book titled “Commissary Kitchen: My Infamous Prison Cookbook” alongside renowned journalist Kathy Iandoli based on culinary recipes he learned during his time in prison.
Mobb Deep released many of the greatest songs in the history of the rap genre including “Shook Ones” and “Quiet Storm.”
