Sean “Diddy” Combs Declines to Testify in Sex Trafficking Trial as Defense Rests

Sean “Diddy” Combs opted not to testify in his federal sex trafficking and racketeering trial, and his legal team rested without calling any defense witnesses.

Wednesday’s proceedings also brought a notable shift in the prosecution’s strategy. In a filing intended to simplify jury instructions, the prosecution announced it would no longer pursue charges of attempted kidnapping, attempted arson, or aiding and abetting sex trafficking.

These charges were previously tied to the racketeering count. However, the primary charges remain: sex trafficking, racketeering conspiracy, and related transportation-for-prostitution offenses.

Asked by the judge whether he intended to testify, Combs responded, “That is my decision, your honor. It is solely my decision.”

His legal team then closed without bringing forward additional witnesses.

Closing arguments are scheduled for Thursday, June 26, followed by jury deliberations. If convicted on the remaining counts, Combs faces a potential sentence of life in prison.
