Stephen A. Smith Wants Shannon Sharpe on ESPN’s First Take

After seven years, Shannon Sharpe decided it was time to leave “Undisputed,” agreeing to a contract buyout that was recently announced. Whether the ongoing tension between him and co-host, Skip Bayless, was the catalyst for his departure, or other reasons, we’re all wondering where Sharpe will end up next.

Establishing himself as one of the prominent voices in sports media, with a growing fanbase, there’s no doubt that Sharpe is highly sought-after in the media market. Trying to get ahead of the pack, ESPN’s, Stephen A. Smith, has publicly shared his desire to team up with Sharpe on “First Take.” Taking to his YouTube channel, Smith made it known: “Yeah, the talks are serious. I want this brother on ‘First Take’ … I want him to have a shinier light placed on him than a few of the times we last saw him.”

If you recall, Skip was Stephen A.’s original co-host on ‘First Take.’ So it would be interesting to see Stephen A. and Shannon team up after both sharing the spotlight with Skip. Speculations about Skip’s relationship with both of his former co-hosts have been circulating, leaving fans wondering if he was the problem this whole time. But neither Stephen A. or Shannon have fueled that fire – even though we ALL saw how rocky it got on certain episodes

Regardless, a Stephen A. Smith and Shannon Sharpe duo would actually be quite entertaining. Both hosts have bold, charismatic personalities and are assertive in their stances when it comes to sports topics.

“I want Shannon Sharpe on ‘First Take’ and I aim to get him…..I’m hopeful. I’m very hopeful and very confident that ultimately we will be announcing sooner than later that he will be on ‘First Take,’” Smith said.
