More than 30 years into her career, Tamia is still making room for romance.
The six-time Grammy Award nominee has returned with “Forever and a Day,” a new single that finds the R&B veteran celebrating the kind of lasting love that blends passion, friendship, emotional safety, and commitment.
Released Friday on digital streaming platforms, the track captures the feeling of a relationship that remains just as exciting as it was in the beginning. Tamia leans into one of the themes that has defined much of her catalog: finding a love worth holding onto.
“Forever and a Day” also reunites the singer with longtime collaborators Claude Kelly and Chuck Harmony, the songwriting and production duo behind several notable moments in her discography.
Kelly and Harmony previously worked with Tamia on “Beautiful Surprise,” the Grammy-nominated title track from her 2012 album, as well as “It’s Not Fair.” They also wrote and produced “Lipstick,” a fan favorite from her 2015 album, “Love Life.”
More recently, Tamia teamed with the pair—who also record together as Louis York—on her 2024 single “Three Little Words.”
Kelly’s songwriting résumé includes credits with Bruno Mars, Rihanna, Miley Cyrus, Ne-Yo, Fantasia, Kelly Clarkson, Ledisi, Jessie J, Keri Hilson, and Anthony Hamilton, among others.
The new single arrives as Tamia continues a busy stretch in her decades-spanning career. Earlier this month, she wrapped a sold-out tour of South Africa, including two shows in Cape Town and additional performances in Durban and Pretoria.
The run underscored the singer’s international staying power and the enduring audience she has built since emerging in the 1990s.
Across her career, Tamia has remained a consistent presence in contemporary R&B, balancing polished balladry with songs rooted in love, heartbreak, and emotional intimacy. “Forever and a Day” continues that tradition while opening another chapter for the veteran vocalist.
