Travis Scott Announces Astroworld Festival 2021

According to reports, at least eight people have died with multiple attendees injured at yesterday at the opening date for Travis Scott’s Astroworld music festival.

Roughly two dozen members of the crowd were taken to the hospital with nearly half suffering from cardiac arrest. Over 300 were treated at the scene.

The chaos began with a large number people pushing their way towards the stage around 9:15pm, crushing those already there, according to Houston Fire Chief Samuel Peña.

A statement regarding the mass casualty event was posted on the official Astroworld Festival’s Instagram earlier today.

“Our hearts are with the Astroworld family tonight – especially those we lost and their loved ones.

“We are focused on supporting local official however we can. With that in mind the festival will no longer be held on Saturday.

“As authorities mentioned in their press conferences earlier, they are looking into the series of cardiac arrests that took place. If you have any relevant information on this, please reach out to @houstonpolice.

“Thank you to our partners at the Houston Police Department, Fire Department, and NRG for their response and support.”
