JAŸ-Z30 Kicks Off Two-Night Los Angeles Run

JAŸ-Z Brings 30th Anniversary Celebration to Los Angeles

JAŸ-Z brought his JAŸ-Z30 celebration to Los Angeles on Friday, Oct. 23, opening a two-night run at SoFi Stadium with a sold-out performance celebrating three decades of music and influence.

Following sold-out shows in New York, London, and Paris, the Los Angeles dates mark the final stop of the anniversary run, which has highlighted the rapper and entrepreneur’s catalog and impact on music and culture.

The iconic rapper opened the show with “Hovi Baby” before moving through a set that included “Izzo,” “Run This Town,” “Hard Knock Life,” and “Dirt Off Your Shoulder.”

Blue Ivy Carter joined her father onstage for “The Story of O.J.” and “Dead Presidents,” playing piano melodies for both songs.

The concert also included a tribute to the late Los Angeles rapper Nipsey Hussle. JAŸ-Z incorporated elements of Hussle’s “Hussle & Motivate” during “Hard Knock Life” and used the instrumental from “Last Time That I Checc’d” during “On to the Next One.”

Scarface made a surprise appearance for the performances of “This Can’t Be Life” and “Mind Playing Tricks on Me.”

The night concluded with John Legend and DJ Khaled joining JAŸ-Z onstage for “God Did.”

Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, G-Eazy, Tia Mowry, and Omari Hardwick were among the guests in attendance.

JAŸ-Z wore several bespoke looks throughout the performance designed by longtime stylist and costume designer June Ambrose.

The JAŸ-Z30 celebration concludes Saturday, Oct. 24, with a second performance at SoFi Stadium, bringing the anniversary concert series to a close.
