Children are our future. Whitney sang it, and it became a hit record. Jade Fletcher has more talent at eleven than most of the female R&B singers who have come and gone in the last five years. We normally don’t feature minors, but her talent is simply overwhelming.
When did you start performing? I was four years old when I started acting class. When I was around 8, I sang in the shower and realized I had a voice. I then began performing at the local church and family events.
Name some of the artists who have inspired or influenced you: Alicia Keys, Beyoncé, Mariah Carey, and I love Adele. I love anyone who sings from the soul.
How would you describe your style? I’m soulful. People say I have an old spirit when I sing. I consider myself versatile… I sing mood music.
Name some of the major artists you have performed with: Working with a major artist is definitely in the works, but I’m always networking with emerging artists and producers with a mind-blowing amount of talent.
Do you have any major offers on the table? Yes, there are deals on the table, but I’m just doing what I love, singing. I let other people handle that.
What advice would you offer other aspiring artists? Follow your dreams and never give up.
Any shout-outs? I’d like to thank my mother, Michele A. Cameron-Fletcher, the person who never gives up on her children’s dreams. She has sacrificed so much for us. I’d like to thank my Ni-Ni (for those who don’t know, that means grandma); my big sister, Mone; my little sister, Nyya, whom I can’t live without; and my dad, Francis Fletcher, for his support.
