Prayers up for Nate Robinson! The 11-year veteran recently shared that he will be undergoing treatment for renal kidney failure, a condition he’s kept private for the past four years.
“I’m sharing this now because I want to be the voice for all those who are having trouble speaking about this illness, and come together for a greater cause – our health,” Robinson shared in a Twitter statement. At 38 years old, Robinson began his career as a New York Knick in 2005. The five seasons he spent in the Big Apple were a highlight of his professional basketball career as he instantly became a fan favorite.
Standing just at 5’9, Robinson won fans over with his outstanding vertical abilities which won him 3 NBA Slam Dunk Contests. He even successfully contested and blocked the 7-foot Yao Ming in a game once!In the span of his career, Robinson also played for the Boston Celtics, Golden State Warriors, Chicago Bulls, Denver Nuggets, Oklahoma City Thunder, Los Angeles Clippers and the New Orleans Pelicans. A native of Seattle, the former All-Star closed out his career with 6,807 points and 1,826 assists! And even as a veteran, Robinson has remained active, playing overseas and in the popular Big 3 league.
