Diamond The Body Joins 1501 Certified Entertainment, Prepares Debut Project

Rap newcomer Diamond The Body, known from Zeus Network’s “Baddies,” has signed with Houston-based 1501 Certified Entertainment. The label, founded by Carl Crawford in 2018, is credited with launching Megan Thee Stallion.

Diamond announced the signing on Instagram alongside Crawford on Aug. 11. The deal followed an introduction by 1501’s DJ LilZacTheDJ, who scouted her during a recent performance.

“My team and I look forward to this new chapter with Diamond as our newest signee,” Crawford said in the announcement. “Lil Zac brought her to a recent event, and the rest was history. DTB brings a new, exciting energy to 1501. With her work ethic and fandom mixed with our formula, she’s going to be a force to be reckoned with.”

Diamond, also known as DTB, said joining 1501 was a long-time goal.

“I chose 1501 because I’ve been a fan of the music and the artists they’ve represented for years,” she said. “They’ve built a legacy in this industry, and I wanted to be a part of that. It’s always been my goal to be a signed artist and to be taken seriously in this hip-hop game, and 1501 felt like the perfect home to make that happen.”

Her single “In My Pockets” has started to gain traction online. She said she is preparing her debut project under the label and hopes to expand her recognition beyond television.

“I’m not limiting myself to any opportunity that comes my way,” Diamond said. “I’m ready for my music to be recognized on a major scale, for the world to see me as more than just a baddie, but as a true hip-hop artist.”

The move adds to 1501’s roster, which includes Erica Banks, Luh Ceo, FNF Chxpo, Ayana Hassan, and Skeatur Jones. The label began with a focus on Houston talent and has since expanded nationwide.

Diamond, from Broward County, Fla., brings a mix of reality TV visibility and performance-driven rap to the lineup. The signing highlights her transition from television to music, with 1501 betting she can follow in the steps of other breakout stars from the label.
