Grammy-winning producer Camper marked the start of Grammy Week with the release of his debut artist project, Campilation, at a high-profile album release party and jam session presented by Jim Beam on Jan. 27 at Verse LA. Industry insiders and fans called it one of the biggest R&B events of the week.
The celebration drew some of modern R&B’s most prominent figures, including Ne-Yo, Victoria Monét, Ty Dolla $ign, Tank, Adam Blackstone, Ari Lennox, Jeremih, Dreezy, Eric Bellinger, Trevor Jackson, Alex Isley, Dixson, Kiana Ledé, BJ The Chicago Kid, Rance (1500 or Nothin), Wanmor, TA Thomas, Jozzy, Roccstar, Ambre, PJ Morton, Terrace Martin, and many others. Nearly the entire Campilation creative team attended.
Inside the venue, the evening unfolded as both a celebration and a showcase of Camper’s musical expertise. Guests watched live performances from Dixson, Alex Isley, Wanmor, The Amours and other collaborators. Camper, a classically trained multi-instrumentalist, took the stage multiple times, demonstrating his ability to move seamlessly between instruments. Ty Dolla $ign and other attendees were seen enjoying the album’s lead single, “Oowee,” featuring Jill Scott.
The night underscored Camper’s evolution from behind-the-scenes producer to fully realized artist. Campilation, distributed through Slang, features collaborations with Stevie Wonder, Brandy, Victoria Monét, Lucky Daye, Ari Lennox, Syd, Ty Dolla $ign, Tank, and Jill Scott. Critics and insiders say the project positions Camper as a leading voice in contemporary R&B.
