Multi-Grammy-nominated artist, songwriter, and producer Marcus “MarcLo” Lomax released his single “Interest,” launching the next phase of his work as a solo artist.
The track arrives with a music video directed by Aaron Katter.
“Interest” was the first song written for MarcLo’s upcoming project and serves as the foundation for the record. The song reflects on love and gratitude and was written as a tribute to his partner. The track pairs live instrumentation with MarcLo’s musicianship and centers on the idea of a relationship that changes a life.
MarcLo enters 2026 after a studio session with Justin Bieber and support from collaborator Teddy Swims. His songwriting and production credits include work with Dua Lipa, Zedd, Miley Cyrus, Lil Wayne, and Elmiene.
The release follows his single “Marvel,” which highlighted MarcLo as a performance-driven artist influenced by Maxwell, D’Angelo, and Musiq Soulchild while working in the space occupied by artists such as Leon Thomas, H.E.R., Daniel Caesar, Lucky Daye, Ty Dolla $ign and Jacob Collier.
Both tracks preview MarcLo’s upcoming album 11 Days. The project was written during the Los Angeles wildfires and focuses on themes of love, resilience, gratitude, and clarity. The album blends elements of R&B, pop, jazz, disco, hip-hop, and gospel.
