Antoine Allen’s Movie Lola to Screen at American Black Film Festival

Critically acclaimed filmmaker Antoine Allen’s Lola, first of a four-part series will be screened at the forthcoming American Black Film Festival.

Allen has rapidly established himself as a renown content creator, making films that tackle interpersonal and social subject in a realistic but loving way.

An empowering story of a sexual assault victim finding strength and solace inside the ring, Lola illustrates the power of the human spirit to overcome trauma.

Helmed by Allen, the film stars Taja V. Simpson known for her roles in Tyler Perry’s Boo 2 and BET’s soap opera The Oval.

The American Black Film Festival will be a virtual experience due to COVID-19, running from August 21-30, 2020.

R&B legend Mary J. Blige will be serving as ambassador.
