The many sounds that intertwine within the Hip-Hop genre are finally getting a chance to shine.

While focusing on regional scenes across the United States, Apple Music has added three new editorial hip-hop playlists to their library.

As of Wednesday, The New Midwest”, The New East Coast, and The New Pacific Northwest playlists will each focus on artists from their respective areas including local acts, covering a wide range of cities including Philadelphia, New Jersey, Boston, Chicago, Flint, and many more. The new playlist additions will hopefully drive fans towards new music in this boundless genre.

“With the streaming scene elevating everyone’s music access, artists from across the globe are having a chance at reaching a higher audience than ever before,” explains Apple Music’s Global Editorial Head of Hip-Hop and R&B, Ebro Darden. “It’s always been a priority to connect with artists and listeners at the community level as we champion discovery and emerging artists from across the map.”

Along with Ebro, Apple Music’s Hip-Hop Programmer, Cyle “Zini” Tahsini shared her support for the new rollout.

“Regional hip hop scenes have only grown in importance over the years and we’re confident these new playlists will help spotlight tomorrow’s superstars by giving them a global platform. We’re excited to accelerate discovery and connect artists with new fans.”

With the streaming broadening everyone’s music access, Apple Music has made it easier than ever to support acts from the regions you live and love.
