Cardi B Honored With ASCAP Voice of the Culture Award at 2025 Rhythm & Soul Music Awards

Cardi B was recognized with the ASCAP Voice of the Culture Award at the 2025 ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards, highlighting her continued impact as a leading figure in music and cultural influence.

Presented by ASCAP Executive Vice President & Head of Creative Membership Nicole George-Middleton at a private event in Los Angeles, the award honors ASCAP members whose work has shaped music and broader cultural conversations. Cardi B also earned an ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Award for her single “Enough (Miami),” adding to her long list of accomplishments with the organization.

The multi-platinum rapper made ASCAP history in 2020 as the first woman to receive the Songwriter of the Year award in back-to-back years. She now holds 23 ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Awards and eight ASCAP Pop Music Awards.

Other major honors included Kendrick Lamar’s “Not Like Us,” which won ASCAP R&B/Hip-Hop and Rap Song of the Year. Co-written by Mustard and published by Pay DJ Mustard and Sony Music Publishing, the song spent a record-breaking 52 consecutive weeks on the Billboard Hot 100 and has surpassed 1 billion Spotify streams.

Producer and songwriter OZ received Songwriter of the Year, with credits on “First-Person Shooter” (Drake), “Lovin On Me” (Jack Harlow), and “I KNOW ?” (Travis Scott). Gospel Song of the Year went to CeCe Winans’ “That’s My King,” co-written by Taylor Agan and Kellie Besch.

Sony Music Publishing was named Publisher of the Year, with a catalog that includes hits by Beyoncé, SZA, GloRilla, Muni Long, Shaboozey, and Chris Brown.

Additional award-winning songwriters included 21 Savage, Offset, Lil Uzi Vert, Playboi Carti, Tee Grizzley, Tasha Cobbs Leonard, and Tye Tribbett.

The ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Music Awards celebrate the most-performed songs in R&B, hip-hop, and gospel, based on radio and streaming data tracked by Luminate.
