Sean Combs, the producer and musician, faced a federal lawsuit in New York City on Thursday from his former girlfriend, Casandra Ventura. She alleges enduring years of abuse, including rape, at the hands of Combs.

According to the complaint obtained by CNN, Ventura asserts that Combs drew her into a lavish and fast-paced lifestyle, initiating a romantic relationship shortly after their meeting in 2005 or 2006 when Combs signed her to his record label, Bad Boy Records.

Ventura contends in the suit that Combs wielded his power over her during their professional and romantic involvement, commencing when she was 19 and Combs was 37, with their business ties continuing until 2019.

The complaint outlines allegations of physical violence by Combs against Ventura, asserting his control over her personal life. It also claims Combs introduced her to excessive alcohol and substance abuse and coerced her into engaging in sexual acts with other men.

Ventura further alleges in the lawsuit that after attempting to terminate their relationship in 2018, Combs forced entry into her home and sexually assaulted her.

Now a mother of two, Ventura claims that her struggles with drug and alcohol addiction stemmed from Combs’ influence throughout their relationship.

The lawsuit indicates Ventura’s ongoing severe emotional distress, leading her to seek help at an inpatient rehabilitation center due to suicidal thoughts linked to the abuse.
