Few artists have had to navigate through so many public relations crises as DaBaby.

Just when footage of his backstage fight with his artist Wisdom began to make rounds, Rolling Stone was able to secure video of the infamous 2018 shooting that occurred in a Walmart near Charlotte, North Carolina.

According to reports, DaBaby shot and killed 19-year-old Jaylin Craig, one of two alleged assailants in what was ruled as self-defense.

However, the release of video has led many viewers to question the rap star’s self-defense claim and according to Craig’s family, the footage was never shown in court. Though the altercation appears to have started off-camera, many viewers seem to believe DaBaby may have been the aggressor.

While he managed to avoid being charged with the killing, he was sentenced to 12 months of probation and a suspended jail sentence.

When Ebro Darden of Hot 97 questioned people thinking that law enforcement and the district attorney handling the case were had not seen the surveillance video, the rapper responded, “Cuz the media got they a– brainwashed.”
