Detroit Pistons Set NBA Record With 27th Straight Loss

The Detroit Pistons were just points away from breaking the franchise’s longest losing streak this past Tuesday. Brooklyn’s, Cam Johnson and Mikal Bridges, however, had other plans. Combining for 45 points, the Nets duo led Brooklyn to a victory, handing the Pistons another L.

The Pistons are now 2-28.

Despite a 41-point performance from Cade Cunningham, Bojan Bogdanovic was the only other Pistons player to finish with more than 15 points. “Every day, I try to lead the squad and I haven’t been successful at that. It’s only right that I speak for it and be the face of it,” expressed Cunningham.

It surely is a heavy load for just one player to carry but nobody else feels it more than Pistons head coach, Monty Williams. “Nobody wants something like this attached to them, and the bottom line is it is my job. Coaches are graded on their records.”

Looking at the bigger picture, it’s hard to imagine how a storied franchise – that has three NBA championships – has succumbed to an all-time low. Many are already proclaiming that this Pistons team is “on pace to be the worst NBA team ever.”

To be fair to the players and the coaches, the organization’s management has been the epitome of poor decision-making. From their drafting choices, and roster rotations, in addition to injuries, and player fatigue/restlessness, the Pistons require upgrades – and a miracle
