As a renowned audiophile, music is a great part of my life. My Samsung Galaxy III has almost every popular music app from Slacker to Spotify.
However, regardless of the service I am using at any moment, there is one prerequisite for musical bliss, a great pair of headphones.
After using Beats by Dre Pros, I thought that it couldn’t get any better. However, first use of the Sony MDR-X10 forced me to reconsider.
With the 50mm driver units and high-energy neodymium magnets slamming my cross-genre playlist into my ears, I was more than pleased with the detail and clarity.
Like the Pros, they greatly decrease ambient noise and come with a tangle free cord. But also allows iPhone users to take incoming calls which is something my $399 Pros don’t.
The price is $100 less than Dr. Dre’s best ($299) and the sound quality is equal if not superior. While I won’t be discarding my Pros anytime soon, they now serve as backup.
