Atlanta, Georgia – Reality television star Erica Mena will not be returning for the next season of VH1’s hit series, ‘Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta,’ after an incident where she used a derogatory term, “monkey”, during a heated argument with her co-star Spice.

The VH1 series, known for addressing tough topics within the community, made the announcement via their official Instagram account on Saturday. In their statement, they assured viewers that the consequences of Mena’s offensive remarks would be depicted in the final three episodes of the ongoing season. Effective immediately, Erica Mena will no longer feature in the upcoming season of ‘Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta.’

Fans expressed their outrage on social media platforms following the controversy surrounding Mena’s use of the derogatory term.

The ongoing feud between Mena and Spice has been a central storyline on the show. During this particular confrontation, Spice alleged that Mena’s 16-year-old son, King, held strong negative sentiments towards his own mother. This accusation led to Mena’s use of the derogatory term, followed by a dramatic table-flipping moment.

Erica Mena made her debut on ‘Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta’ in 2018, having previously appeared in multiple seasons of ‘Love & Hip Hop: New York.’

This latest development in the world of reality television underscores the ongoing discussions surrounding controversial language and behavior on such platforms, as fans and producers grapple with the boundaries of acceptable content in the genre.

For now, fans will have to wait and see how this incident plays out in the remaining episodes of the current season of ‘Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta,’ while anticipating changes in the cast dynamics for the next season.
