Hosea Helps, Inc. celebrates the Martin Luther King Jr. National Holiday as a day on – not a day off. Hosea Helps founder, Reverend Hosea L. Williams, served with Dr. King on the front lines of the Civil Rights Movement and believed that dignity, respect, and self-determination were the right of every person. This year Hosea Helps celebrates the sacrifices of Dr. King and Rev. Williams by serving those in need.

In observance of MLK Day, Hosea Helps hosts a food distribution on Monday, January 17, 2022, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at their headquarters located at 2545 Forrest Hills Drive SW, Atlanta, GA 30315 (off Cleveland Ave and Beeler St).

This year’s MLK Day holiday event is made possible through a partnership with corporate sponsor Delta Air lines, a longtime supporter of the mission of Hosea Helps. The extraordinary men and women of Delta will be volunteering on this national day of impact to help pack and distribute food boxes to local families in need. The MLK Day distribution will include grocery boxes with enough food to feed a family of four for two weeks and is full of fresh produce, poultry, pantry items, Coca-Cola, water, and PPE supplies. Participants must pre-register on the website at 4Hosea.org.

“Dr. King’s legacy is committed toward building a Beloved Community in which everyone is cared for, absent of poverty, hunger, and hate,” said Tad Hutcheson, Managing Director-Community Engagement. “As a company dedicated to building a more equitable world, we honor Dr. King’s legacy by serving our community with our long-time partner Hosea Helps. Through this annual event we help meet the basic need for our community—access to food. “

“We are so grateful to have volunteers from Delta Air lines with us on this national day of service. Hosea Helps has been serving communities in need for more than 50 years, and we won’t stop serving others or honoring the legacy started by my Father, Rev. Hosea L. Williams. I want to thank Delta Air lines for Making this event a reality.”, says Elizabeth Omilami, CEO of Hosea Helps.
