Jayson Tatum Leads Celtics in Game 7 Win

“I’m humbly one of the best players in the world.”

Jayson Tatum is HIM.

This past Sunday, Tatum and the Celtics hosted the Philadelphia Sixers on their home turf. Just hours before tip-off, Jaylen Brown called out Boston fans, challenging them to bring ALL the ruckus to TD Garden for the Game 7 matchup. The Celtics should’ve ended this series back in Philadelphia the other night, but the Sixers put up a much-needed fight. With the season on the line, as defending ECF champions, the Celtics had to secure this win in from of their home crowd. The stage was set. The Garden was ready for war.

Despite a lackluster performance in Game 6, Tatum turned his game all the way up when it absolutely mattered. Not only did he lead his team to a victory, but he did so while setting a new record for the most points in a Game 7, surpassing Steph Curry! Tatum would finish with 51 points, along with 13 rebounds, 5 assists, and 2 steals. An all-around impressive performance. Jaylen Brown also added 25 points, proving how dynamic this duo truly is.

What was supposed to be a big game for the opposing stars, Joel Embiid, and James Harden, turned out to be a disappointing performance. The two stars would finish with a combined 24 points, 14 rebounds, and just 7 assists. Ouch.

The Celtics would eventually cruise to a 112-88 victory over their longtime rivals, and punch their ticket to the Eastern Conference Finals for the second straight season. Overall, the Celtics now have a 27-9 record in Game 7s and have won 11 more Game 7s than the Los Angeles Lakers.

Now, the stage is set for a rematch of last year’s Eastern Conference Finals: Boston Celtics vs. Miami Heat.
