Karl-Anthony Towns scored 31 points and grabbed eight rebounds as the New York Knicks held off the Detroit Pistons, 118-116, on Friday night to take a 2-1 lead in their first-round playoff series.
Jalen Brunson added 30 points, seven rebounds, and nine assists for New York, which bounced back from a Game 2 loss to regain control of the series.
Cade Cunningham finished with 24 points and 11 assists for Detroit. Tim Hardaway Jr. also scored 24 points in the loss, as the Pistons stayed within striking distance throughout but were unable to complete the comeback in the final minutes.
Game 4 is set for Sunday, April 27, at 1 p.m. ET and will be broadcast on ABC.
