Kyrie Irving Shines in Dallas Mavericks Debut Against Clippers

Not to be overshadowed by all the trade deadline news, Kyrie Irving shined in his first game with the Dallas Mavericks. With Luka Doncic sitting out due to an injury, Kyrie helped lead the Mavs to a 110-104 win over the Clippers. Just three days after being traded, Kyrie went right to work, dropping 24 points, while dishing out 5 assists, and contributing 4 rebounds. He shot 53% from the field and was 4/8 in 3-pointers made.

Not bad, Kyrie. Not bad at all.

Kyrie was met with loud cheers from Mavericks fans and started cooking like he’s been on the team all season long. The Mavs scored 41 points in the opening quarter and outscored the Clippers 21-9 to start the game. The trade was looking like a seamless transition.

As for the Clippers, they never led in any of the quarters and trailed by 19 in the first half. They were able to cut the deficit to 60-52 at halftime. In the final half of the game, the Clippers got within five points FOUR times, but the Mavs were able to contain them and get the win.
