London Singer Qendresa Lands Features Across Drake’s Surprise Album Releases

North-west London R&B artist and producer Qendresa appears across four tracks on Drake’s surprise companion albums Habibti and Maid of Honour, released Friday alongside Iceman through OVO Sound and Republic Records.

Qendresa, pronounced “Chen-Dre-Sa,” is featured on “Slap The City” from Habibti and contributes vocals to “Gen 5,” “Fort Worth” featuring PARTYNEXTDOOR, and “Stuck” from Maid of Honour.

The releases are part of Drake’s surprise rollout for Iceman, a 43-track project featuring appearances from Future, 21 Savage, Sexyy Red, Central Cee, Molly Santana, and Popcaan.

The credits follow Qendresa’s recent double single “Rain in July” and “Be the One,” released earlier this month through Dream City Discs. The release included an anime- and comic-inspired visual directed by Sofire and animated by Liffia.

Qendresa said the collaboration with Drake developed after years of support from OVO Radio and Sound42.

“OVO Radio and Sound42 have been so supportive of my music, so hearing from Drake himself was a really special moment — so many summers soundtracked to Drake,” Qendresa said. “‘Slap The City’ was the very first song we collaborated on and one of my personal favourites. He is a generational artist and brilliant A&R, and I’m very grateful to be part of it all across both Habibti and Maid Of Honour.”

Known for self-produced electronic soul and diaristic songwriting, Qendresa has gained support from artists including Lil Yachty and Deftones.

Qendresa’s upcoming performances include May 22 in London at Gala, June 5 in Paris at We Love Green, June 28 in Perk at Paradise City, and Aug. 29 in Berlin at Elle’s & L’s.
