Michael B. Jordan Joins Marvel’s ‘The Black Panther’ Movie

Michael B. Jordan has been tapped to play in Marvel’s upcoming ‘Black Panther’ movie, he joins Lupita Nyong’o and Chadwick Boseman. The movie’s lead character is named T’Challa, the warrior king of Wakanda, Marvel’s fictional African nation that is rich in an unbreakable alloy called vibranium.

The comic book character  made his debut in ‘Captain America: Civil War’ which opened on May 6, 2016.

This is Michael’s third time working with Ryan Coolger who directed ‘Creed’ and ‘Fruitvale Station.’ These two are a dynamic duo and are set to make that movie magic happen again.

As far as who he is playing has not yet been revealed. However, the Newark native is no stranger to comics. He previously starred as the Human Torch in ‘The Fantastic Four’ last year.

‘Black Panther’ is set to be released during Black History Month with a February 16, 2018 release date. Production is scheduled for next year.

Jordan is also developing a remake of The Thomas Crown Affair and also co-writing a series called ‘North.
