R. Kelly Transferred to General Population

R. Kelly has been moved from solitary confinement into the general population at the Metropolitan Correctional Center.

Prison officials have previously stated that the singer had requested to protective custody due to the nature of the allegations he faces and concern for his safety.

In most prisons across the country, pedophiles and rapists are often the victims of violence from other inmates.

While R. kelly has yet to be convicted, his reputation for having an affinity for underage girls may put him in harm’s way.

Prosecutors have went on record denying accusations that the singer was placed in solitary confinement against his will.

They noted in a recently filed motion, a recorded conversation where he expressed apprehension in bein.

Kelly faces 13-counts in a federal sex abuse trial that is scheduled to start in April 2020 in Chicago, Illinois.
