Rapper Desiigner Charged With Domestic Violence in South Carolina

Rapper Desiigner, whose legal name is Sidney Royel Selby III, was arrested in South Carolina and charged with third-degree domestic violence, according to jail and court records cited by multiple news outlets.

Selby, 28, was booked March 23 in Horry County and released the next day after posting $1,500 bond, reports said. A court appearance was scheduled for May 6.

The charge stems from an alleged March 2 dispute involving the mother of his child, according to a police report described by People magazine. The report said the argument became physical outside a home after a disagreement tied to car keys and luggage. The woman reported minor scratches, and authorities said the child did not witness the incident.

Representatives for Selby had not publicly commented as of the latest reports.

The Brooklyn rapper rose to fame with the 2015 hit “Panda,” which reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. He later released “Timmy Turner” and worked with several major artists.

Selby previously faced federal charges in 2023 after an indecent exposure case tied to an international flight.
