Tammy Ford, Aria F. Wright, and IXP June are widely known for throwing the most highly regarded Black cultural events in New York.
Last night’s Suite 29A birthday celebration for the iconic Melyssa Ford, among others, at the Ace Hotel’s Libera wine bar continued their longstanding streak of exceptional gatherings.
Ford, a Canadian media personality and actress who gained prominence in the late 1990s through her appearances in hip-hop and R&B music videos, is widely considered one of the most beautiful women of her generation. She has appeared in a range of hip-hop and R&B videos, including Glenn Lewis’ “The Thing to Do,” Jay-Z’s “Big Pimpin’,” Mystikal’s “Shake Ya Ass,” Jadakiss’ “Knock Yourself Out,” Alicia Keys’ “You Don’t Know My Name,” and Usher’s “Yeah!”. Her magazine presence spanned covers and feature stories for Black Men magazine, King magazine, ESHE Magazine, and Smooth magazine.
She later transitioned into television, film, and podcasting, addressing topics such as wellness and self-empowerment. Her acting roles include a cameo as a flight attendant in the TV series Entourage, Three Can Play That Game (2007), Love for Sale (2008), Think Like a Man, the TV movie Sworn Justice: Taken Before Christmas (2023), and Hunting Housewives (2024).
With crowd favorites and timeless hits from the 1980s to the present, DJ Goldfinger spearheaded the evening’s entertainment, keeping everyone fully engaged while the prized bottle service provided Camus Cognac’s finest offerings.

The illustrious event was capped off with the presentation of a vegan toasted coconut bento-style birthday box, including cake with cupcakes provided by Baked by Lís, a luxury New York-based bakeshop.
“Honored that Baked by Lis could be part of celebrating an iconic woman who’s been the blueprint of Black excellence and beauty long before it was a trend,” stated Baked by Lís founder, Lís Bryant.
Once again, the night underscored why crowds travel from near and far for events by Tammy, Aria, and June. As with Melyssa Ford, their prowess only strengthens with time, and the audience walked away from 20 West 29th Street, NYC, with clear proof.
