Rapper Rod Wave, whose legal name is Rodarius Marcell Green, was arrested May 20 in Fulton County, Georgia, facing 14 charges stemming from an April 21 incident at his Milton residence.
The charges include aggravated assault, conspiracy to commit a felony, firearm possession during a felony, tampering with evidence, obstruction of law enforcement, and criminal damage to property.
According to police reports, officers responded to a 911 call about a domestic disturbance at Green’s home. Upon arrival, they discovered evidence of forced entry, bullet-damaged vehicles, a handgun, and an emptied safe. Green voluntarily surrendered to authorities and was released on bond the same day.
Green’s attorney, Drew Findling, asserted the rapper is innocent and was the victim of a burglary. Findling described the charges as “incomprehensible” and expressed confidence in a favorable resolution.
This arrest follows a previous incident in April 2024, when Green was detained in Manatee County, Florida, on two counts of illegally possessing a firearm or ammunition as a convicted felon. The charges were related to a shooting outside the Sonic Sports Bar in St. Petersburg, which left four people injured. His attorneys successfully disputed the claims, stating that Green was not a convicted felon, leading to his release.
Green has faced legal issues in the past, including a 2022 arrest on a felony charge of battery by strangulation, which was later dropped.
Green has released six studio albums, with his latest titled “Last Lap” in 2024. He has been nominated for several awards, including Billboard’s Top New Artist and iHeartRadio’s Best New Hip-Hop Artist.
As of now, Green has not publicly commented on his recent arrest.
