Serato, a global leader in audio software, announced Thursday the release of Hex FX, a powerful multi-effects plugin designed to transform sound production with a vast array of chainable effects.
The plugin, developed by the Serato Audio Research Lab, features more than 45 effects and over 100 presets, enabling producers to customize and manipulate sounds with ease. Hex FX offers tools like pitch reverb, bit crushers, slap-back tape delays, and modulation, alongside Serato’s exclusive effects inspired by legendary hardware such as the SP404 and vintage reel-to-reel machines.
“Hex FX gives me new ways to shape my sound. I love the pitch reverb, saturators, and slap-back tape delays — they’re really inventive,” said Guy Lawrence of Grammy-nominated electronic duo Disclosure. Lawrence is among several industry icons who contributed signature presets to the plugin, along with Lord Finesse, Jake One, Amber Navran, and DECAP.
Hex FX also features Serato’s unique Performance FX, which allows producers to add live-show dynamics with effects like pitch braker, backspin, and half-time. The centerpiece of the plugin is the Hex Dial, a control knob that transforms sound with a single twist, creating intricate layers in real-time.
Compatible with major digital audio workstations, including Ableton Live, Logic Pro, and FL Studio, Hex FX is available in VST3 and AU formats. The plugin is priced at $99 or included in the new Serato Producer Suite, a subscription bundle costing $9.99 per month.
