Dalton Eatherly, an online streamer known as “Chud The Builder,” is now facing attempted murder charges following a shooting outside the Montgomery County Courthouse in Tennessee, according to authorities.
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office said Eatherly was arrested after a confrontation Wednesday that escalated into gunfire near the courthouse in Clarksville. Investigators said two people were injured during the incident and transported to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
Authorities charged Eatherly with criminal attempt to commit murder, aggravated assault, employing a firearm during a dangerous felony, and reckless endangerment with a deadly weapon. Officials confirmed he remains jailed without bond pending further court proceedings.
Eatherly, 28, built an online following through livestreams that frequently featured confrontational and racially charged encounters in public. Witnesses and investigators said the courthouse confrontation remains under investigation, and officials have not publicly identified the other person involved in the shooting.
A video circulated online after the shooting appeared to show Eatherly claiming he acted in self-defense. Law enforcement officials have not confirmed that account.
District Attorney Robert J. Nash said authorities are continuing to review evidence connected to the shooting.
