SoundCloud recently launched it’s paid service, Soundcloud Go in the U.S., but what does that mean to creators?

It’s simple. SoundCloud is monetizing its platform and creators will receive a portion of the income in royalties.

However, not all members. Premier Partners using On SoundCloud can monetize their content in the U.S. and earn revenue generated on SoundCloud. Every ad on SoundCloud directly supports an artist. At press time, premier membership is currently invite-only.

Nonetheless, SoundCloud Go will still provide creators the opportunity to extend the reach of the offerings to million of users worldwide.

SoundCloud Go opens up a new way to build your audience by allowing your fans to save your tracks temporarily for offline listening. The plays you get when someone listens to your tracks offline are counted in your stats just like the plays you get in other ways via SoundCloud. You can choose to exclude tracks from offline listening in the edit menu of any track.

“SoundCloud Go is the same SoundCloud you’ve known for years taken to the next level – offering an expanded catalog of tracks and albums that are new to the platform as well as ad-free, offline listening. We’ll also continue to have the existing free ad-supported listening experience. SoundCloud Go is only available in the U.S. for now, but we’ll be rolling it out to other countries later this year.” – Alex and Eric, Co-Founders of SoundCloud.

Artists, composers, and songwriters are excited and optimistic about the future of the popular streaming service used by Drake, Childish Gambino, Kendrick Lamar and many more.

“SoundCloud Go has many exciting new tools and features for creators and listeners alike. As a creator, one of my favorites is the algorithm-fueled discovery feature, which allows your music to be played right alongside chart-topping hits in the same genre as you, tapping into the fan base you’re trying to reach and potentially developing new “super fans”!” says critically acclaimed songwriter Cherece Hicks who has worked with platinum selling artists including Do or Die. “This is invaluable in building your brand! Plus, your music still belongs to you, so with the monetization tools and the added music features, Soundcloud Go helps to facilitate a real opportunity to grow your fanbase and take your music and your brand to new, exciting heights!”
