WNBA All-Star ’23: Team Stewart Defeats Team Wilson

The lights in Las Vegas are even brighter this weekend as the city hosted this year’s WNBA All-Star Game. Stars, from the NBA, NCAA, and more, all came out to support the ladies as Team Stewart and Team Wilson battled it out on the court.

The WNBA has seen a surge in viewership this season and it has been tremendous to witness. Throughout the first half of this year, alone, viewership was up 46% compared to 2022. Across 13 games, on ESPN platforms, the average viewers peaked at 548K, while it hit 647K during the eight games ABC broadcasted.

This is a major win and a step forward for the League.

This past Saturday night, the All-Star Game gave us a glimpse of just how good it can and will get in seasons to come for the WNBA. New York Liberty’s, Breanna Stewart, and Las Vegas Ace’s, A’ja Wilson, lead their respective teams in an entertaining match-up. By halftime, Team Stewart held onto a 10-point advantage. And it was all thanks to a standout performance by Seattle Storm’s, Jewell Lloyd, who lead Team Stewart with a record-breaking 31 points. This record was previously held by the likes of Maya Moore and Kelsey Plum.

Lloyd wasn’t the only player breaking records, however. New York Liberty’s, Sabrina Ionescu, set the record for the WNBA and NBA 3-Point Contest with 37 points!
