Young Miko Joins Apple Music’s Up Next Program as Emerging Talent

Apple Music unveiled Young Miko as the newest addition to its Up Next program, an initiative designed to spotlight and uplift emerging talent in the music industry.

Expressing her enthusiasm, Young Miko shared, “I’m so excited to be Apple’s Up Next artist. I’m a huge fan of previous artists who were part of the campaign and am honored to receive this type of love and support.”

Originally María Victoria Ramírez de Arellano Cardona, Young Miko’s journey traces back to her roots as a tattoo artist and soccer enthusiast before transitioning to music. Her ascent began with the release of her debut EP, TRAP KITTY, in 2022, featuring tracks like “Riri” and “Lisa.” However, it was her collaboration with Colombia’s Feid on “Classy 101” that catapulted her into the limelight, showcasing her dynamic presence and lyrical prowess on a global scale.

In 2023, Young Miko achieved significant milestones with her singles “DISPO,” a collaboration with Karol G, and “FINA,” featuring Bad Bunny. These tracks propelled her to new heights, securing positions on Apple Music’s Global Daily Top 100 and Global chart, respectively. Notably, her streams on Apple Music surged by over 1,250%, supported by prominent placements on playlists such as Today’s Hits, ¡Dale Play!, Pure Fuego, and La Fórmula.

In an exclusive Up Next short film released today, Young Miko offers fans an intimate look into her life in Añasco, Puerto Rico, where she finds solace amidst her art, friends, and family. Reflecting on her journey, she shared, “I like more and more the woman that I’m becoming and that I’ve found in me. I want to keep looking for that fulfillment and keep learning from myself and my surroundings.”
