Video game publisher 2K on Thursday released the first gameplay trailer for NBA 2K27, highlighting updated visuals and recreations of memorable moments featuring NBA and WNBA stars ahead of the game’s launch.
The trailer showcases this year’s cover athletes—Victor Wembanyama, Caitlin Clark, and Derrick Rose—while also featuring appearances from several other players in sequences designed to spotlight new gameplay presentation and player authenticity.
Among the featured moments is Wembanyama’s playoff celebration that appears on the cover of NBA 2K27. The trailer also includes LeBron James performing his signature pregame chalk toss while wearing a Philadelphia 76ers uniform, reflecting an alternate roster scenario within the game.
Clark appears wearing her signature Nike Caitlin 1 shoes, while New York Knicks guard Jalen Brunson is shown performing one of his signature celebrations. Dallas Wings rookie Paige Bueckers is featured delivering a highlight-reel pass, emphasizing the game’s focus on player-specific animations.
The trailer also depicts on-court chemistry between Minnesota Timberwolves guards LaMelo Ball and Anthony Edwards, as well as Milwaukee Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo wearing a Miami Heat uniform in another alternate roster sequence.
On the WNBA side, Minnesota Lynx guard Olivia Miles is shown reacting after converting a contested layup, recreating one of her recognizable on-court moments.
The trailer concludes with Derrick Rose hitting a game-winning, buzzer-beating 3-pointer against the Cleveland Cavaliers, revisiting one of the defining highlights of his career.
2K said the trailer highlights enhanced graphics alongside player likenesses, signature animations, and cinematic presentation as part of NBA 2K27’s gameplay experience.
