Singer-songwriter D4vd was dropped by his record label after authorities linked him to a criminal investigation that later led to murder and abuse charges, according to a reported timeline of the case.
The AP reported that after the discovery of a 14-year-old girl’s body in September 2025, D4vd’s tour was canceled, and he was dropped by his label. The report did not specify the exact date of the label’s decision.
D4vd, whose legal name is David Burke, had risen to prominence after the 2022 release of the viral songs “Romantic Homicide” and “Here With Me.” Reuters previously reported that his success helped him secure a deal with Darkroom/Interscope Records.
Burke was later charged in Los Angeles County with murder, lewd acts involving a minor, and mutilation of human remains. He has pleaded not guilty.
Neither Darkroom nor Interscope immediately issued a public statement in the sources reviewed regarding the end of the relationship.
The case marked a sharp reversal for the artist, whose debut album and touring plans had positioned him as one of pop music’s emerging acts before the label split and subsequent criminal charges.
