Beyoncé has etched her name in history once more, emerging as the inaugural Black woman to dominate Billboard’s country music chart.

The renowned Grammy recipient accomplished this milestone as her latest single, “Texas Hold ‘Em,” soared to the summit of the country airplay chart this week. Unveiled on Feb. 11, coinciding with the Super Bowl, the track swiftly ascended to No. 1, alongside her other release, “16 Carriages,” which made a notable debut at No. 9 on the same chart.

Anticipation builds for both singles to be featured on Beyoncé’s forthcoming country-themed album, dubbed “act ii,” slated for release on March 29. This album serves as a sequel to her 2022 offering “Renaissance,” widely acknowledged as “Act I: Renaissance.”

Beyoncé’s revelation of the full-length album followed a Verizon commercial featuring her, aired during this month’s Super Bowl.

Furthermore, Billboard notes Beyoncé’s groundbreaking achievement as the first woman to clinch the top position on both the Hot Country Songs and Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs charts since their inception in 1958. Joining elite company, the only other artists to accomplish this dual feat include Justin Bieber, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Ray Charles.
