BLK Dating App, the leading dating and lifestyle platform for the Black community, is celebrating Pride Month 2024 with the campaign “It’s Giving Space: Celebrating Queer Event Curators.” The initiative, created with author and podcast host Sesali Bowen, aims to amplify Black LGBTQ+ stories through content, social media, and in-person events.
The campaign spotlights three LGBTQ+ party collectives: Party Noire (Chicago), Global Warming (Brooklyn), and Lesbians in Houston (Houston). These collectives are celebrated for creating inclusive spaces and enriching their communities.
Featured Collectives:
- Party Noire (Chicago): Celebrates Black femmes, Queer Women of Color, and Black womanhood through events and community activities.
- Global Warming (Brooklyn): Focuses on uplifting Black and Brown queer and trans folks, providing safe and joyful spaces.
- Lesbians in Houston (Houston): Creates safe spaces for queer women in a conservative state, hosting vibrant nightlife events.
BLK supports these collectives by sponsoring Pride events and premiering videos that highlight their unique journeys and contributions.
“At BLK, we aim to celebrate the untold stories within the Black LGBTQ+ community,” said Jonathan Kirkland, Head of Brand and Marketing for BLK. “We are proud to support and amplify the voices of these community leaders.”
