The legal dispute between singer Cassie, also known as Casandra Ventura, and music producer Sean “Diddy” Combs has been resolved through a settlement, marking a swift conclusion to a lawsuit that contained disturbing allegations of abuse and assault. The settlement announcement came merely a day after the lawsuit was filed and was disclosed in a statement from attorney Douglas Wigdor, who represents Cassie Ventura.

The statement confirmed that both parties had reached a resolution “to their mutual satisfaction.” However, specific details of the settlement were not disclosed, and further statements beyond those issued by Ventura, Combs, and Wigdor in the email distributed by the lawyer were not anticipated.

Expressing her perspective on the matter, Ventura stated, “I have decided to resolve this matter amicably on terms that I have some level of control. I want to thank my family, fans, and lawyers for their unwavering support.” Combs, on the other hand, conveyed his well wishes, saying, “We have decided to resolve this matter amicably. I wish Cassie and her family all the best. Love.”

Benjamin Brafman, an attorney representing Combs, did not immediately respond to a request for comment following the settlement announcement. Previously, he had vehemently refuted the allegations, stating that Combs denied them outright.

The lawsuit, filed by Ventura, detailed distressing accounts, asserting that Combs introduced her to a “ostentatious, fast-paced, and drug-fueled lifestyle” after she signed to his label in 2005 at the age of 19, with Combs being 37 at the time. Ventura, now 37, alleged that a pattern of abuse began in 2007 when their on-and-off relationship commenced.

The lawsuit depicted instances where, according to Ventura, Combs, characterized as being prone to “uncontrollable rage,” subjected her to brutal physical assaults involving punching, kicking, and stomping. Additionally, it alleged that he coerced her into drug use and forced her into sexual encounters with other men while he recorded them. Furthermore, the lawsuit claimed that in 2018, as Ventura attempted to terminate the relationship, Combs forced his way into her Los Angeles residence and sexually assaulted her.
