A crowd of music and art enthusiasts gathered at The Blueprint University, owned by Kaila Cherie Wright, for a special “Rooted in Rhythm” showcase hosted by the Millennial Maven Creative Foundation on April 18th.
The free event featured Pynk Beard, who performed his entire EP, Sugar and Salt, and premiered his new single, “I Lived,” which was released April 18 and is now available on all streaming platforms. His performance also included a blend of Gnarls Barkley’s “Crazy” and Carl Thomas’s “Summer Rain,” backed by a live band led by Marcus “Mav” Roberts.
Pynk Beard addressed the crowd with his signature flair, saying, “I’m your daddy’s wife’s favorite country singer, so you might as well get with it.” He added, “Dallas has been good to me since I landed. I’m so grateful and had a ball.”
The evening began with a student-led art exhibit curated by Olivia Clark, a Wade College student, showcasing local visual talent. Hosts Mecca Evans and Jamila Bell, co-hosts of the Unhinged & Immoral podcast, brought energy to the audience. Together, they reach more than 1.5 million followers across social media platforms.

Line dancing instructor Tighten Up with Tiff led a session that brought attendees to their feet in celebration of community and music. Adrian Garza followed with a performance that drew strong support from the crowd.
Event sponsors included Credit Union of Texas, Lane Boots, Red Bull, Jim Beam, Gibson Guitars (Gibson Cares), Teleport Watches, The Guitar Sanctuary, and Blueprint University. Organizers credited their support for helping promote local talent and creativity.
The Millennial Maven Creative Foundation said the full concert experience of “Rooted in Rhythm” will take place Oct. 18.
