On Thursday, April 23, Clark Atlanta University’s Art and Fashion Department, in collaboration with 20th Century Studios, hosted Concrete Runway to commemorate the upcoming release of The Devil Wears Prada 2, set for theaters on May 1.
The event was part of the Clark Atlanta University Art and Fashion Department 2026 Senior Showcase. It was co-hosted by department chair BJ Arnett and Cynthia Bailey, a model, actress, podcaster, and cast member on The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 17.
The program brought together students, designers, and industry guests. The evening included support from Nordstrom, Gap, Puma, and Macy’s.
Cynthia Bailey said her background in fashion shaped her involvement in the event.
“Fashion has always been my first love going back to my modeling days in NYC, and I am beyond honored to host this special fashion show in celebration of The Devil Wears Prada 2 in partnership with Clark Atlanta University,” Bailey said. “As someone who has spent years in the fashion industry, it means so much to support and help empower the next generation of designers. Watching these talented students bring their visions to life on the runway is truly inspiring. I commend Clark Atlanta University for continuing to uplift and encourage their students to be great, and I’m grateful to 20th Century Studios and the film for sparking this moment of creativity and opportunity.”
Student designers from Clark Atlanta University presented collections on the runway, including Bridgette Tei, Jazlynn Cyphers, J’Sean O’Neal, Simone Mathis, Amari Todd, Reese Marie Kwabie, Reian Enclade, Judy Jaden, Kahlik Hayes, Martha Singleton, Aja King, Trinity Pike, Stacey Hill, and Lathan Fleming.
The presentation moved through daywear and eveningwear segments, focusing on design development and presentation of student work.
Organizers said the program connected the film franchise with student design work and broader industry participation.
