Shoutout to the youth!
Today, the Connecticut Sun announced the launch of its official youth basketball platform, Sun Academy. Paving the way for the next generation, the Academy will provide youth basketball programming and holistic character development. Striving to make a positive impact on young athletes across New England, the Sun Academy boasts one-of-a-kind experiences and encourages all to “Shine B.R.I.G.H.T” – an acronym that stands for Bold, Resilient, Intentional, Great, Humble and Tough.
“The launch of Sun Academy is a proud moment for our organization,” said Morgan Tuck, Connecticut Sun Director of Franchise Development and Assistant General Manager. “Having a platform to help the next generation of basketball players improve and develop their game will always be a focus for us. And in doing so, we are looking forward to expanding our reach across New England, helping youth from all across our region learn skills on and off the court.”
The inspiration for the academy came from the organization’s desire to uphold its values regarding youth basketball players and provide them with an opportunity to learn and grow their game to the next level. The program will not only feature basketball instruction, but also incorporate a curriculum that focuses on several aspects of life, including education, health and fitness, and character development.
