Dame Dash suffered a legal setback this week after a judge ordered him to pay $300,000 to author Edwyna Brooks for uploading her film Mafietta to his network without permission.

In a recent statement to Allhiphop, the Brooks stated “Damon Dash claims to help African-American women while stealing from me and my family. He stole my dream and took my ‘Mafietta’ brand as his own without consent or any credit to me, its creator. In my opinion, Damon Dash has shown himself to be a walking, talking contradiction of everything he preaches.”

Shw is represented by Christopher Brown, a lawyer representing two other clients with pending litigation against Jay-Z’s former business partner.

Photographer Monique Bunn has accused Dash of groping her and stealing her equipment and photos while filmaker Josh Webber is alleging that he stole a full length film entitled Dear Frank/The List.

At press time, Dame Dash is reportedly planning to file an appeal
