In an official statement, family members of DMX (Earl Simmons) deny rumors that his masters have been sold or purchase since his recent passing.

According to a statement published by journalist Sowmya Krishnamurthy on Twitter, the family also denied fundraising to pay for the rapper’s funeral or selling merchandise.

“There have a been a few rumors following our loved one, Earl Simmons’ passing that we’d like to clear up. No one has bought Earl’s masters. Additionally, we are not selling any merch or raising money for Earl’s funeral. If anyone is requesting for money for his funeral, please be aware the person is a scammer. We will keep the public posted on funeral/memorial service arrangements.” – Earl ‘DMX’ Simmons Family

Since the rap legend’s passing, several social medial posts have spread rumors that Jay-Z and Beyoncé purchased the master recordings for several million to provide his multiple children.

Unlike some media outlets, we will only post confirmed official statement regarding his funeral arrangements.
