Executive Power: Kathy Liautaud

We decided to bring back our feature on entertainment industry executives and who better to start with than someone who goes above and beyond for all of her clients. Whether you’re a household name or a neighborhood star, Kathy Liautaud gives you 100 percent.

When did you start your career in entertainment?
I started my career in fashion as an intern for WyClef Jean”s wife Claudinette at Fusha designs. It was a great experience as she was the first Haitian woman to debut on Mercedes Benz fashion week in NY. I was able to learn the ins and outs of the fashion industry and meet amazing people.

Name some people who inspire you and why?
I am inspired by people who use their talent, blessings, and platforms to give back. Oprah, LeBron and Michelle and Barack Obama are people who first come to mind.

What separates you from other publicists ?
My work ethic and my desire to teach my clients about the business. I treat each client like family and I go the extra mile to help them with things that the average publicist will not.

Who have you worked with as far as clients?
I have worked with BET, Akoo, Triple Fat Goose, Fabolous. Wyclef, Lil Bibby, Rich Dollaz, Vanessa and Angela Simmons.

Do you have any advice would you offer aspiring publicist?
Keep yourself knowledgeable about all things in pop culture. Go out and network constantly, make calls, and thank and appreciate everyone that supports you. Build strong relationships with your peers. Have confidence in yourself and don’t take things personal.
