TMB Entertainment founder Damian “Te Money” Jackson and Palma Music founder Danny Rodriguez have announced a joint venture aimed at creating new opportunities for Black and Latino artists in Los Angeles’ independent music scene.
The partnership will focus on connecting artists, producers, and music collectives across neighborhoods and genres while providing resources for artist development, collaboration, and music business opportunities.
Jackson has worked in the music industry as an executive and songwriter. His career includes relationships with music executives Abou “Bu” Thiam and Akon, rapper Lil Zane, and members of Da Razkalz Cru. Jackson also signed the late rapper Dolla to an early solo recording deal.
Rodriguez has focused his work on developing and promoting talent within the Latin music community.
The two executives said their shared upbringing in Los Angeles helped inspire the venture despite coming from different cultural backgrounds.
“Growing up in Los Angeles, we’ve seen firsthand how much talent exists throughout our city, but we’ve also seen how neighborhoods, cultural differences, and a lack of opportunity can sometimes keep that talent divided,” said Te Money and Rodriguez in a joint statement. “We come from two different backgrounds, but we share the same vision. This partnership is about bringing Black and Brown communities together, creating opportunities that may not have existed before, and showing what can happen when we work collectively instead of separately.”
The venture will also emphasize transparency, artist advocacy, and cross-cultural collaboration as TMB Entertainment and Palma Music seek to expand opportunities for emerging Los Angeles musicians.
