After being popularized by Grammy-winning artist and businessman Jay Z, Moet Hennessey announced a partnership between the two regarding the luxury champagne brand Arman de Brignac, also known as the Ace of Spades.

The deal will involve Moet Hennessy taking over global distribution for the popular Champagne famed for its metallic appearance and its expensive prices. An average price for an Armand de Brignac Ace of Spades Brut Gold with Gift Box goes for $299.99. With worldwide success in North America, Europe, Asia, and over 500,00 bottles sold in 2019, their perfection in the Champagne category holds up to its name.

According to president and CEO of Moet Hennessey, he feels the new partnership would bring the Armand de Brignac brand ‘to new heights around the world’. He added: ‘For years we have been following the fantastic success of Armand de Brignac and admiring their ability to challenge some of the rules of the Champagne category.’

Jay-Z’s involvement with Armand de Brignac began in 2006 when he led a boycott of the former favored luxury Champagne Cristal. Eventually, in November 2014, he bought the company outright acquiring the remaining stake in the business held by New York-based Sovereign Brands.

Jay Z expressed his passions regarding the 50/50 partnership:

“I’m proud to welcome the Arnault family into ours through this partnership that began with Alexandre Arnault and continued with his father Bernard Arnault and Philippe Schaus, at my home in Los Angeles. It is a partnership that has felt familiar the entire time. We are confident that the sheer power of the Moët Hennessy global distribution framework, its unparalleled portfolio strength, and its long-established track record of excellence in developing luxury brands will give Armand de Brignac the commercial power it needs to grow and flourish even further”.
